The Fleet Media Android application can be loaded onto an android device via a side loading process. This document outlines the process for side loading the application onto the android devices.
The instructions vary depending on the version of the Android Operating system installed on the device
Step-by-step guide
Android 7.1 (Nougat) and below:
- Allow installation from unknown sources.
- In your devices Settings, go to Security.
- Scroll down to Device administration and make sure Unknown sources is enabled.
- In a web browser on the device, download this file: Fleet_Media_Player_1.7.2.150.apk. Note that the web browser may display a warning. Click OK.
- Once the download completes, pull down the notification bar and tap Fleet_Media_Player_1.7.2.150.apk
- Tap install in the Fleet Media Player dialog.
- When the installation completes, tap the Done button.
- FleetMedia.tv should now launch the Android app when playing content.
Android 8 (Oreo) and higher:
- In a web browser on the device, download this file: Fleet_Media_Player_1.7.2.150.apk. Note that the web browser may display a warning. Click OK.
- Once the download completes, pull down the notification bar and tap Fleet_Media_Player_1.7.2.150.apk
- A message may pop up if the web browser has not yet been given permission to install apps.
- To give the web browser permission to install apps, click Settings on the dialog.
- Enable the slider and click the back button (← next to "Install unknown apps") to go back to the web browser.
- To give the web browser permission to install apps, click Settings on the dialog.
- Tap Install on the prompt to install the Fleet Media Player.
- When the installation completes, tap the Done button.
- FleetMedia.tv should now launch the Android app when playing content.
