NOTE: The Swank Media Player app for iOS devices has been discontinued and is no longer supported. This document will be retained for reference purposes, however.
If you are having difficulty playing content from a Swank streaming server on an iOS device such as an iPad or an iPhone, it may be helpful to capture a diagnostic log.
1. Open the Settings app:
2. Scroll down to the Swank Media Player and tap the switch for "Diagnostics Enabled"
3. Return to Safari, open the content selection page for your streaming server and select a title to play:
4. When prompted, start the Swank Media Player app:
5. Diagnostic information will appear over the video. Allow the error message to appear or for the video to play for a few moments.
The diagnostic text is automatically copied to the iPad clipboard. This text can be pasted into any text editor, such as Notes or the Mail application. NOTE: The switch in the upper right can be ignored.
6. Create an email to support@swankmp.zendesk.com. Be sure to include your name and the name of the institution you are writing from. In the body of the email, press and hold to show the "Paste" option. Select "Paste."
You can now send the email to Swank Support for analysis. Once again, be sure to include your name, email address, phone number and the name of the institution you are writing from.
