Use this guide when installing or updating the Patient Entertainment TV app through Genios for PDI devices. These settings ensure Genios can correctly identify the app, launch it, and display the correct branding.
What you’ll need
The latest PDI-provided firmware on your TV device. The A-Series TVs require v22.21 or greater.
The latest Swank-provided APK file (make sure the version you upload matches the version you intend to deploy)
The Patient Entertainment icon image provided by Swank (Genios does not reliably use the icon embedded in the APK)
Step 1: Upload the latest APK in Genios (PDI)
In Genios (PDI), add a new Android app package (APK) or update the existing one.
Upload the most recent APK you received from Swank.
If your workflow includes validation:
Confirm the APK version matches what you’re deploying (for example,
app-swank-3.15.3.apkcorresponds to v3.15.3).
Step 2: Set the required APK fields
Update these fields exactly as shown below:
APK Label:
Patient EntertainmentAPK Package:
com.swank.androidAPK Main Activity:
com.easeltv.falconheavy.tv.splash.view.SplashIntroVideoActivity
Important notes:
Genios uses the APK Package to recognize the app during upgrades. If the package is incorrect, updates may install as a separate app instead of upgrading the existing one.
The Main Activity controls what launches when the app starts. If it’s wrong, the app may fail to open or may open to an unexpected screen.
Step 3: Set the app icon (required)
Genios (PDI) will not reliably load the icon embedded inside the APK.
Upload and assign the Patient Entertainment icon image provided above as the app icon in Genios.
