This page is a source for customer IT staff to determine technical requirements for successful use of the Swank Cloud Streaming and Digital Campus products.
The Cloud Streaming product is hosted out of a Swank Motion Pictures data center, so the local technical requirements are really pretty simple. The Cloud Streaming product requires Internet access in order to access the Cloud Streaming site (digitalcampus.swankmp.net and streaming.swankmp.net).
Authentication
Swank Cloud Streaming offers various types of authentications and access to these may vary by market. A site must be limited to the approved audience using some form of authentication, please refer to the specific guide for your market, or inquire with your Account Executive or Technical Support.
Bandwidth Requirements
Swank Cloud Streaming titles are encoded to support Adaptive Bitrate Streaming in order to be as network friendly as possible. For more information on Swank adaptive bitrate streaming please see the following article:
Each Swank title is encoded on our storage location at 5 different bit rates. The bitrate streamed to the client device depends upon both device and network characteristics. These characteristics include screen resolution, CPU availability, graphics processor, network bandwidth and speed available. As the network becomes more congested, the client device player will automatically request lower resolution playback (down to 800) to avoid buffering. If the bandwidth is insufficient to support the lowest bitrate, then the title will buffer. Within a specific environment, it is impossible to determine exactly what bandwidth will be used to playback content. Absolute minimum requirements would be the minimum bitrate * number of simultaneous streams occurring.
When title playback is paused, no content is downloaded to the client device (outside of a small buffer). Due to this implementation, a paused stream does not consume any bandwidth.
Client Access Requirements
In addition to your Swank Cloud Streaming Site, Client devices must have access to the following sites in order to properly access film playback:

Note: If you plan on using Chromecast s3chromecastreceiver.swankmp.net (52.162.253.63) will also need to be open.
