Downloading Content from Aspera

1. Open a browser and navigate to https://cdntransfer.swank.com/  
   • Use your sign in credentials provided by your sales contact.
2. You may be prompted to download the IBM Aspera Connect 3.10.1 or later. Use the link below if not prompted:
   • Downloads available for Windows, macOS, and Linux at the link below:
     • https://www.ibm.com/aspera/connect/
   • Follow the download instructions.
   • When the download is finished, click on the downloaded file and install. Once finished it will say “Installation Completed!" and you can close the install window.
3. Once you have successfully logged into https://cdntransfer.swank.com/, navigate to the desired folder and select the checkbox next to the order number you want to download in that folder. Then click on the download button.

   • Note: You may be prompted to input your username and password again.
     • 
4. Once the file is downloaded, transfer the file to a hard drive large enough to hold the order, and process the hard drive as normal.

How to Change Download Speed

1. Once you have started a download you should see the Transfer Window below: Click on the Transfer Monitor button to the right of the progress bar indicated below.
   • 
2. This will pull up the Transfer Monitor Window shown below.
   • 
3. There are two ways to modify your download rate:
   • 
     1.  Manually Adjust: Click on the top arrow indicated on the left of the graph and slide it up to increase the speed or down to decrease the speed.
     2. Select a Rate: At the bottom of the window select the drop-down arrow to select various fixed rates.
        • 
4. Once you have selected the appropriate rate you can close the Transfer Monitor Window.

 

How to Change Download Location

Note: You should perform these steps before beginning your download.

1. Launch the Aspera Connect application from your Start Menu if it is not set to launch on startup. 
2. Launch Aspera Connect from the System Tray by clicking on the icon shown below:
   • 
3. Click the menu button from the Activity Window and select Preferences.
   • 
4. Select the Transfers tab
5. Click Browse under Downloads to select the path you would like your downloads to transfer to.
   • 
6. Select OK to confirm your change and close the Preferences Window
