Using a projector or second display with your Windows 10 or 11 device can enhance your experience with our Streaming, or Download Manager products. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up your display, choosing the right projection mode, and ensuring optimal performance.
Connecting Your Projector or Second Display
-
Physical Connection
-
Ensure your projector or second display is properly connected using HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, or USB-C, depending on your device’s available ports.
-
Turn on the projector or external display.
-
Windows should automatically detect the second display. If it does not, press
Windows + P
and select an option or go to Settings > System > Display and click Detect.
-
-
Choosing a Display Mode
-
Press
Windows + P
to bring up the Project menu, which provides the following options:-
PC screen only: Uses only the primary screen.
-
Duplicate: Mirrors your main screen to the second display.
-
Extend: Expands your desktop across both screens.
-
Second screen only: Uses only the second display/projector.
-
-
We recommend to avoid Duplicate as this often results in display issues for the Video Player - showing a black screen on the second display.
-
For a theater-like display, and to limit other computer activity from interrupting the presentation, choose Extend.
-

-
Go to Settings > System > Display and adjust the resolution for the best visual clarity.
