Client Devices
Pro:Idiom encrypted content requires equipment with a Pro:Idiom chip to decrypt and playback the video. This includes one or more of the following depending on the system in use:
- TVs equipped with Pro:Idiom technology
- LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sharp, and Philips manufacture televisions that have an integrated Pro:Idiom chip to make that encrypted signal visible on the TV without the need for converter boxes.
- Set top boxes equipped with Pro:Idiom technology
- Headend systems equipped with Pro:Idiom technology
- High-definition headend systems utilizing Pro:Idiom eliminate the need to use set-top boxes. With legacy headend TV systems, set-top boxes are a possible signal security fail point in a TV system and a headend systems utilizing Pro:Idiom eliminates that signal security fail point.
