When using dual-display mode, the Cinelink™ user interface is always displayed on HDMI 2, while the movie is displayed on HDMI 1. The HDMI ports on the Cinelink are not currently hot swappable. If the display device is unplugged or the input source is changed, the output may not return when reconnected.
While re-starting the Cinelink is probably the quickest way of correcting the issue, the control video can be restored without having to shut it down entirely. There are two solutions to resolving this situation:
- Re-start the Cinelink
- This can be done by pressing and holding the power button for several seconds or pulling the power cord.
- Pull both HDMI connections to the device
- Plug the control monitor (HDMI 2) back in by itself
- After several seconds, the control video will return.
- Then plug in the video playback display (HDMI 1)
- Video will return to the playback display
Note: Please keep in mind that HDMI splitters will break HDCP. It is a 1 to 1 solution, 1 Cinelink to 1 Screen.
