*Cinelink™ content is protected by HDCP and requires all inline video connections to be HDCP 1.1 - 1.4 compliant. All equipment in line between the Cinelink™ device and the projection system must be HDCP 1.x compatible or video playback will be suspended, or degraded to SD (Standard Definition).
Compatible video connections
HDMI is the native connection from the Cinelink™ unit. 5.1 digital audio is available through the HDMI port only. If you are sending audio to a separate audio system, you will need to use the available 3.5mm audio jack to provide analog stereo audio, or use an HDCP compliant HDMI audio de-embedder.
HDMI is easily converted to DVI using a passive adapter. However, keep in mind DVI does not support audio, and you will be required to use the 3.5mm analog audio jack, or use an HDCP compliant HDMI audio de-embedder. Also, please note there are a variety of DVI types and the connection, adapter and cable must be able to pass HDCP keys for full HD.
Display port is the least common video interface we currently encounter in cinema environments, but it is easily converted from HDMI using a passive adapter, carries 5.1 digital audio, and is HDCP compliant.
Compatible Audio Connections
The native HDMI port supplies Digital 5.1 and Stereo audio. If you are converting to a connection that does not carry audio, the 3.5mm analog audio jack or an HDCP compliant HDMI audio de-embedder will need to be used.
Cinelink includes a 3.5mm analog audio jack. This provides line level analog stereo audio. This can be utilized when separate sound systems are being utilized, or the video connection has been adapted to a type that does not support audio. The audio setting in the user interface must be changed from HDMI to Analog when using the 3.5mm analog audio jack.
The analog audio can be adapted to numerous analog audio types.
Incompatible video connections
These connections are not HDCP compliant and will cause Cinelink™ to suspend playback, or degrade to SD. These connections are not supported, and not compatible with Cinelink™.
