Summary
There are two ways to receive content for your DMP, USB Hard Drive Delivery or Network Download via Aspera. Additional details for each method are provided below.
Table of Contents
USB Hard Drive Delivery
All DMPs are configured to detect Swank Content USB hard drives when connected. A prompt will be presented to begin the ingest when the drive is plugged in. In order to process USB hard drive content updates, follow the steps outlined in the link below:
Ingest Issues
If your content hard drive is not ingesting, please review the troubleshooting steps in the link below:
Network Download via Aspera
Some customers prefer to download the USB hard drive shipment payload from Aspera (hosted by us) and create USB drives with it at their location. This would need to be discussed with your Account Executive to create an Aspera account. Once the content order is downloaded, you would process it the same way as a physical USB hard drive (detailed above). If you are unfamiliar with downloading content from Aspera, please review the instructions linked below:
The files you download should be placed onto an NTFS formatted USB disk. Be sure to leave all files exactly as they are. Do not edit them, rename them or move the files to different locations. Also be sure that the USB drive is large enough to contain all of the movie data. Note that the path to the content files should look like this:
Drive Letter > Content > Order#> 1 > 1
Or for example:
F:\Content\1981600\1\1\
The files in that directory should look something like this:
Once your download has completed the drive should be attached to the DMP for ingest. The DMP software should recognize the drive and offer to import the content. If you are unfamiliar with the DMP ingest process, please refer to the document linked below:
Note: The traditional packing slips that are sent out with the physical drives are included as a text file in the root of the order. This packing slip file is called ShipmentInformation.txt and include notes that may help indicate where a drive needs to go for customers with multiple DMPs.
