How to Clear Cache and Cookies in Chrome and Firefox
Google Chrome
- Open Settings:
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Access Privacy and Security:
- Scroll down and click on "Privacy and security" in the left-hand menu.
- Clear Browsing Data:
- Under "Privacy and security," click "Clear browsing data."
- Choose What to Clear:
- In the pop-up window:
- Set the Time range to "All time".
- Check "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files."
- In the pop-up window:
- Clear Data:
- Click "Clear data."
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Settings:
- Click the three horizontal lines (☰) in the top-right corner of Firefox.
- Select "Settings" (or "Options" on some versions).
- Go to Privacy & Security:
- In the left-hand menu, click "Privacy & Security."
- Clear Data:
- Scroll to the "Cookies and Site Data" section.
- Click "Clear Data."
- Choose What to Clear:
- In the pop-up window, check "Cookies and Site Data" and "Cached Web Content."
- Clear Data:
- Click "Clear."
- Confirm by clicking "Clear Now."
Tips:
- Clearing cookies will log you out of most websites. Be sure to save your passwords or bookmark any essential pages.
- Restart your browser after clearing cache and cookies for the changes to take effect.
