Thank you for your interest in Cinelink. To ensure proper operation, Please review the checklist below to verify compatibility with the Cinelink system.
Video & Audio
-
Your system will require HDMI or DVI input in order to pass HDCP keys. And all components inline between the Cinelink and your projector must be HDCP compliant
- If you are using a video switch, or switching system (Crestron) please make sure your system input settings are set to allow HDCP compliance
-
*High Definition video and Surround Sound are supported only when all inline equipment is HDCP compliant. If HDCP is broken, the video will play in Standard Definition video and stereo audio.

-
Audio can be routed via HDMI or the Analog out on the Cinelink. Please note: the analog port is stereo only and does not support surround sound. If you are using the analog out, you must change the audio setting to ensure proper playback
- For detailed information on supported audio and video connections, please refer to this link: https://swankmp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002384263-Cinelink-Compatible-Connection-Types-and-Common-Diagrams
Internet
-
A network connection is required for activation, content download, and software updates.
- *For satellite connections with limited bandwidth, the content and software updates will be delivered via harddrive and does not require a constant internet connection. You will only require an internet connection for the activation of the device.
- An internet connection is not required for playback
- You will need to make sure the content is fully downloaded prior to moving the Cinelink device from the network connection
- Your Network and IT staff likely has firewall rules in place for security. There are certain ports that will need to be open for Cinelink to communicate with our content servers. Please provide the list below to your IT team and ask that they be "whitelisted" for the IP address the Cinelink will occupy

- Advise your Network and IT staff that if they employ any "packet shapers" or "traffic shapers" on the network, the IP address the Cinelink device occupies need to be "Whitelisted" and provide appropriate bandwidth to allow for large file downloads (9 to 15 GB per movie)
Monitor & Keyboard
-
Cinelink can be controlled in two variations:
- Single screen (Control console appears on projection screen)
- Dual screen setup (Control is on a separate screen and projector is reserved only for film content)
- Dual Screen setup requires an HDMI or DVI monitor connected to HDMI2
-
It is recommended to utilize a mouse and keyboard attached to the Cinelink device to maximize control. However you may control the Cinelink with the provided remote control
If your audio/video set up meets all of the above requirements and you can ensure that each component between the Cinelink and your projector is HDCP compliant, then you qualify to use the Cinelink unit. Please contact your Swank account executive to order your Cinelink.
